Transpersonal Gestalt Awareness Technique, Transpersonal Memory Work

and Spiritual Practices,  aiming for Spirit Consciousness.

Spiritual growth is a process of becoming aware of our spiritual being, a

transformation of deep levels of the personality:  from being  Ego-driven, one

becomes  Spirit-guided and reconnected to the inner Wisdom, a transformation

towards transcending the personality and experiencing oneness with ALL THAT IS…

The Transpersonal Growth Training is a comprehensive system of assessment and

transpersonal intervention modalities for acceleration of personal and  spiritual growth,

aiming  for Spirit Consciousness, enhancing the transformation of the personality

to be able to incorporate spiritual experiences  and implement them. (Balan, 2002).

TGT  applies  Transpersonal  Gestalt  Awareness   Technique  and

Transpersonal Memory Work for the resolution of  emotional imbalances

and counterproductive  patterns,  relating to present time, pre-natal and past life

  memories.

TGT removes the obstacles in the process of self-healing, activating the  timeless

healing energy, present in all of us, so healing occurs.

The Transpersonal Memory Work Is  a transpersonal intervention modality which

facilitates the recall of memories from any time frame or dimension for the

resolution of emotional imbalances and counterproductive patterns,  and,

transcending the personality, aims at Spirit Consciousness.  (Balan, 1995, 2002, 2008)

   - Introduction into

     Meditation

-  Sharing spiritual

    experiences

The Gestalt Awareness Technique concentrates at the awareness of body senses,

Emotions and thoughts in here and now. (F. Perls, 1951) In its transpersonal

form the GAT includes  a focus at energy states and extrasensory experiences

and is a part of introduction into meditation. (M. Balan, 1995, 2002, 2008)

TGT includes spiritual practices.  Spiritual practices are ways of raising and

Maintaining our level of Spirit Consciousness.  In that guidance is given.

community, retreating, etc. are also encouraged.

From  the theoretical point of view, regarding the kind of  psychotherapeutic change

achieved,  the change of the individual undergoing  TGT happens both on intrapersonal

and interpersonal levels, by contact. awareness and experimentation, as basic general

therapeutic tools, and, with additional tools: reaching altered states of consciousness,

memory  recall, re-experiencing and resolution or neutralisation of negative memory

  content.

Intervention mode used: bio-feedback in the assessment of memories  that are in the

basis of counterproductive patterns and negative emotions.

The assessment is done by keywords, which are the common denominators of symptoms.

The memory recall and the neutralisation of negative content are  facilitated by a

  breathing technique.

The application of the resolutions is done between sessions to re-enforces the

new patterns in interpersonal relationships, after the internal healing occurred.

RESEARCH WORK: 2004-2010

Evaluation of Effectiveness of the TGT on the  NEO Personality Inventory Revised

The  Transpersonal Memory work, in combination with the

Transpersonal Gestalt Technique,  the essential parts of the

Transpersonal Growth Training, have been used

over 6000 sessions since 1995. In about half of these the work was done

accessing past life memories.

The  author  has  been carrying out ongoing research work since 2004

on personality changes that take place by applying the method.

In the study the personality profiles of a sample of  33 subjects were

monitored  so far by the NEO Personality Inventory Revised.

Assessments were done at  the commencement of the  sessions and

fter the completion of the   work which addressed the emotional level only.

The  comparison of these   results was tatistically analysed.

The statistical significance of means on Monte Carlo method

was done by Dr Philip Greenway.

The results in 2008 showed that after an average of about 18 sessions,

significant changes  occurred in the personalities of the subjects:

a marked   improvement   in emotional balance,  resolving anxiety,

angry hostility, depression, self-consciousness, impulsiveness and vulnerability.

On the other hand,  a significant increase  occurred in warmth,

gregariousness, assertiveness, positive emotions, trust, altruism,

compliance, competence,  order, dutifulness,  achievement  striving,

self-discipline and deliberation facets.

Overall, 63% of the personality facets changed significantly.

Observing the changes in the factors alone,

the factors that significantly change are:

Neuroticism, Extraversion and Conscientiousness -

60% change is statistically significant.

Tests were done in 2008, after the spiritual level was completed and

after the moral principles were strengthened and adhered to,

with continuous spiritual practices carried out on a regular basis,

such as meditation and selfless service to the community.

These results  brought on further significant personality changes,

Slightly different than the effectiveness of work on the emotional level:

further improvement of emotional balance, increased positive

emotions, assertiveness, trust, compliance, tender mindedness,

order and achievement striving.

Conclusion:

The 2008 results show  that personal and spiritual growth,  facilitated through

these methods  will create significant    changes  in  the personality:

emotional    balance, enhancement   of  inner peace, warm   and

positive  emotions take place,  assertiveness,  competence,

conscientiousness, order, achievement striving, dutifulness,  self-discipline,

deliberation, trust and altruism increase.

The application of  sequences of TGT, accelerate the transformation of

60-63% of the personality.

Based on the above presented results, the effectiveness of  TGT

was  proved to  CHANGE THE PERSONALITY,

not only to improve symptoms.

The TGT brings on  purification, which allows our Spirit Self

to shine fully: THE DEEP SELF IS UNCHANGED,

PERMANENT AND IN A STATE OF BLISS.

Marta Balan, Advanced Guide, Member of the Gestalt Therapy College

of the Society of Psychologists of Serbia, was trained in Serbia and Switzerland

in the seventies by the trainers of the Gestalt Therapy Institute of Los Angeles,

the pupils of Frederick Perls, the founder of Gestalt Therapy:

Robert Martin,  Robert Resnick, Gary Yontef and Jan Rainwater;

the later that time  started to apply the transpersonal approach:

Psychosynthesis.  Marta Balan trained Neo-Reichian Therapy and

Eidetic Imagery  in Europe  and Australia with  Bill Trash and

Lara Amber  from the  Radix Institute  of Texas and  with

Nurelle McKenzie, Certified Radix Teacher from Adelaide.

Marta  created  the   method   of  Transpersonal Memory Work

in 1995 and expanded it into Transpersonal Growth Training in 2002.

This method accesses this life, pre-natal and past life memories.

She  believed in  1995  in what was described and elaborated

as Integral Spirituality, by Ken Wilbur in 2006.

She initiated the Victorian Transpersonal Psychology Symposiums on 2006

and  demonstrated past life memory work first time in an APS event  in 2007,

in the Second Victorian Transpersonal Psychology Symposium and presented

the results of her longitudinal research  on the effectiveness

of Transpersonal Memory Work in 2008.

She founded the Transpersonal Growth Institute in 2002,

for research work and education of  professionals in helping professions

to apply Transpersonal Growth Training.

Marta is also a multi-faith activist for social cohesion. She applies

spiritual principles in community events. She specialises in the

interface of arts/music and spiritual growth.

She has been organising symposiums on shared values

of faith traditions since 1996, which are also an extension of

the Transpersonal Growth Training, as adherence to moral

principles  needs to be re-enforced, to reach the level of

Transpersonal or Unity Consciousness.

These events  were raised to a Victoria State level and run annually:

the Victorian Shared Values Symposiums and the Holy Melbourne

Concerts –  unique musical events designed for the experience of

spiritual unity.
